Shlomit Fundaminsky

Independent Performer and choreographer. Born in 1974, lives, works and creates in Tel-Aviv, Israel. Received the Israeli Minster of culture award for 'young outstanding choreographer', and a scholarship from AICF (America Israel Cultural Foundation).

BEd in Dance Education from the Kibbutzim College of Education in Tel-Aviv; Art studies at Tel- Aviv University; 'Lecoq' - physical theater studies in Tel-Aviv.

Improvisation, composition, performance and contemporary dance teacher. Performed with the 'Noa Dar' Dance Company and with the 'Nimrod Freid' Dance Theater Company, Israel.

Created pieces which were presented in dance festivals in Israel, Europe & USA.
2009:
Created 'La Divina', a solo piece inspired by the opera singer Maria Callas, invited by the Opera-Fringe Center, for the evening 'Operation'.
Created the improvisation piece 'Ticking [Improformance]', as part of the Choreographers' Society's 2009 celebration.
Participated in 'Twei-now' - an Israeli-Chinese co-performance, with the BeijingDance/LDTX, invited by the Israeli embassy in Beijing [Beijing, China].
2008:
Performed her solo piece "Inner Pocket" in the San Francisco International Art Festival.
Presented 'In a box' - an evening of her works.
Received a scholarship from "Teva Pharmaceutical Industries" for excellence in the field of performing art.

2007:
Choreographed the movement for the play 'Hebron', a co-production of the two biggest theatres in Israel: Habima National Theatre - Cameri Theatre of Tel Aviv.

2006:
Performed at the '8festival da Fabrica' in Porto, Portugal, with the piece 'Inner Pocket'.
Was invited to perform with her Duet Piece 'skid Marks' (Curtain Up & International Exposure, 2005) at the "Images of the Middle East Festival" in Copenhagen, Denmark, and at the" Dublin Fringe Festival 2006" in Ireland.
A founding member and creative director of the Israeli improvisation dance group 'Oktet'.

2005:
Won the second prize at '10MASDANZA', the Canaries international solo contest, with the solo piece 'Inner Pocket' (Curtain Up & International Exposure, 2004).
In April 2005 opened the 25Th anniversary celebrations of the 'Maison De La Danse' in Lyon, France, with the piece 'Inner Pocket' together with Wim Vandekeybus Company.
