Otousan

The dance work “Otousan” shares a journey of leaving the religious world, depicting the tension between secular society and Jewish-Hasidic culture. The piece combines contemporary culture, Hasidic dance, and electronic music. Accompanying the performance is an imaginary lawsuit, written in concise legal language, in which the son sues the father for his love. The lawsuit is supported by legal evidence that forms the performance itself, presented through dance segments, songs, and live music.

“The choreography surprises with its originality… The energy of the excellent dancers erupts and bubbles over like the uncorking of champagne… Stunning. The work reveals a mind that thinks differently; it is fresh, delightfully eccentric, and sparks curiosity about Filtser’s future as a creator”.
