Alice Dor Cohen was born in Haifa, 1952. Since the age of 5 she trained in Classic and modern Ballet, and creation with Ariela Hayam and Nachum and Dina Shahar.
She studied photography at WIZO Haifa Academy of Design and Education. She served in the IDF at “Lahakat Hashirion” (The Armored Company) and immediately after, in 1971, represented Israel with the “From Israel with Love” company, with which she toured internationally for 8 months. Alice moved to Jerusalem where she studied “Free Art” at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. In 1975 she started her academic studies at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and graduated with a BA in Dance and a teaching diploma (in 1995 she graduated with an MA after two years of studies).
From 1975 till 1987 she partnered in creation with her then husband, Artist Eli Dor Cohen, creating installations and multi-media performances including “Pink Death”, winner of the 1985 1st prize at the Acco Fringe Festival.
From 1978 till 1980 she danced at the Hassia Levy Agron dance company.
In 1980 she was accepted to Batsheva Dance Company. In 1982 she created her first choreography work for the End of Innocence Company. Alice created 5 dance performances, all appearing at the company’s joint repertoire. In 1989 she left the company to focus on her creation.
Since 1988 she created several dance pieces to the Akko Festival including “Come Baby, Come Come”, together with Daniella Michaeli, “One Hour of Comfort” and more.
From 1998 till 2016 she was a dance and choreography lecturer at Orot Israel College Campus Elkana.
In 2000 she founded a dance program at Sharet High School in Netanya, and later worked at the Hadassa Wizo Canada Technological High School’ as an educator, social and social involvement coordinator until 2019.
Since 2007 she is a member of the Choreographers’ association, created numerous shows and is supported by the Lottery Art Council – Mifal HaPayis cultural fund, Dance and Culture branch.
In 1998 she was awarded the “Yair Shapira” award for her contribution for dance in Israel.
In 1983 she was awarded the Gertrud Kraus award for creating “Safek Halom” (Dream in Doubt) for Batsheva Dance Company.
In 1997 she was elected for the judges’ panel of the International Choreography Competition in Minsk, Belarus, and to perform her dance piece “Milestones” before the local Jewish community.
Currently Alice runs workshops for youth and adults nationwide and continues to perform with her successful dance piece “Lior’s Spark” which is recommended and supported by the national culture lineup.
Since 2016, Alice is also a TV and Movie actor, represented by the Rafi Agiv Talent Agency. She participated in the movie “Kol Dichfin”, in the series: “Reign of Shadows”, “Gingi”, “The Kibbutznikim” (as Dina Sanderson’s mom), numerous commercials and more.
Alice is a proud mother of two and a grandmother of three.

2015 – ” Lior’s Spark” (Hanitzoz Shel lior) – Children’s dance performance together with a special workshop.
2014 – “The Way I Am” – accepting the other.
2013 – “Rejuvenation” – four ex-Batsheva dancers on aging female dancers.
2012 – “Milestones” – a performance about significant junctures at the creators’ life.
